Danville

The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont offers woodland scenery and blazing fall colors as epic as its name suggests. Once voted one of America’s top places to visit before you die by a major travel magazine, the region offers woodlands, wildlife, and vistas of green, rolling hill country aplenty. The small town of Danville, home to 3,000 souls and located in Caledonia County, one of the three that make up the Kingdom, has historic buildings, restaurants, and shops for those wishing to soak up the small-town charm for which the Green Mountain State is famed, and for those wishing to explore Vermont’s more rugged side, there is also access to walking and skiing on nearby Webster Hill, from whose summit can be found inspiring vistas of the Green and White Mountains. Fishing is also available. Accommodation ranges from rooms on picturesque dairy farms and country cottages to historic bed and breakfasts.
