This part of Alaska boasts many things for visitors to do. For a start, the rental is located right by the Chugach State Park, where visitors can marvel at the majestic mountains capped in snow, and follow the winding hiking trails through the wild woods. Nature is king here, and guests may be able to spot moose, bears, and whales. Many agencies in the area operate glacier cruises, where guests can wonder at the glaciers winding down from the mountains into the cold waters of the Bay of Alaska.

From September to April, Girdwood is one of the best places to catch the Northern lights, a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. For the adrenaline junkies, dog-sledding is a fun and unique way to explore the area with a pack of man's best friend, and the Hilltop Ski Area offers the winter classics of skiing, snowboarding, and sledding down some of the USA's best snow slopes.

In Anchorage itself, just a 45-minute drive from the cabin, visitors will find plenty of things to do too, from various museums including the amazing Anchorage Museum, to the Alaska Zoo, where polar bears can be spotted. Guests can rent a bike and explore the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, or try their hand at catching some salmon in Fish Ship Creek. After working up a thirst, they can try some delicious beers and snacks at the Midnight Sun Brewing Company.
