Nestled on the side of Haleakala Mountain in Olinda, this breathtaking and secluded cottage rental is perfect for a romantic getaway for two near the historic town of Makawao in Upcountry Maui, Hawaii. The 590-square-foot cottage boasts a single bedroom, which features a king-size bed and a pyramid-shaped skylight in its eight-sided, vaulted ceiling—allowing guests to stargaze from the comfort of their bed. The bedroom also comes with intricately carved Balinese furniture, recessed lighting and wall sconces, and dimmer controls.
Meanwhile, the luxurious bathroom has a custom-built, six-foot teak vanity with dual ceramic sinks; a large, hand-painted and hand-carved Balinese teak mirror, and a separate room with pocket doors, which houses the marble, dual-headed Kohler shower and the toilet. Deluxe linens and towels are provided.
Throughout the rest of the cottage, guests will find a spacious living room and a fully-equipped kitchen. In the living room, there are 14-foot, open-beam ceilings; terracotta floors with built-in radiant heat; an Asian-style dining space with a custom-built table for two; a cozy lounge area with a wall-mounted, flat-screen television and a stereo.
