Overlooking stunning tropical gardens, the property has its own orchard and is minutes from waterfalls, caves, orchid farms, and natural hot springs.
Lava Tree State Monument is only 11 minutes away by car, while the beautiful Isaac Hale Beach Park is only nine miles from the site. Guests can enjoy a range of activities at the magnificent Kapoho Tide Pools, and MacKenzie State Recreational Area, both under 30 minutes from the property. Nanawale Park, Ahalanui Beach Park, Kazumura Cave, Nani Mau Gardens, and Panaewa Rainforest Zoo, can also be reached in under half an hour.
The stunning Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, including Kilauea - the most active volcano on the planet - is just over an hour away. Closer to the vacation rental, Malama-Ki, Puna, and Waiakea Forest Reserves are all within 40 minutes’ drive. Hilo Forest Reserve is 28 miles out from the retreat while Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge is under two hours away.
Guests can also view Mauna Loa Observatory, which is reachable in 35 minutes, or further out, the dormant Mauna Kea is 63 miles from the property.
A range of shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes can be found three miles away in Pahoa, and 25 miles north in Hilo.

Nature lovers can head to some of the wonderful forest areas across the Big Island. The famous Hawaii Volcanoes National Park offers 150 miles of walking trails, guided walks, driving tours, and amazing views of Kilauea – the world’s most active volcano.
Hikers will enjoy the walking trails at Malama-Ki, and Puna Forest Reserves. Waiakea Forest Reserve is great for biking, while Hilo Forest Reserve offers hunting and wildlife watching. Glampers can also spend a day being guided through the many trails of Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge, where a range of beautiful birds can be seen. Those interested in volcanoes can have a look around the Mauna Loa Observatory or can hike Mauna Kea. Just minutes from the retreat, glampers can take a look at the Lava Tree State Monument, which has been preserved since the eruption in 1790.
Those who enjoy getting in the water will love the Kapoho Tide Pools. Guests can swim, snorkel, view marine life, and get in the magnificent hot springs. Turtles, parrotfish, and chubs can be seen at Isaac Hale Beach Park, while there is also opportunities to get in the hot springs, surf, snorkel, and sunbathe on the beach. MacKenzie State Recreational Area has panoramic views of the ocean, rock cliffs, and disc golf.
Glampers can take a trip to Kazumura Cave to see the world’s longest known continuous lava tube. Formed over four centuries ago, it is over 42-miles long. For a more relaxed pace, guests can drive just 30 minutes to Nani Mau Gardens for a stroll through the 22-acres of tropical flowers and plants. Panaewa Rainforest Zoo is ideal for those who enjoy seeing different animal species, botanical gardens, and a scenic water garden.
Those who like shopping, dining out, or having a peaceful drink at a unique bar can travel just three miles to Pahoa, or further out to Hilo. Visitors who would rather stay close to the retreat can have fun without having to travel. Guests can meditate or practice yoga indoors and outdoors, process macadamia nuts from the orchard, or just sunbathe on the wrap-around deck. -
