In the winter months, guests are just next to Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley Ski Resort. These two resorts have miles of groomed trails for all ages and abilities so that everyone can come for a day of fun in the snow. Guests can ski or snowboard in the morning, and spend the afternoon cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or snow tubing. Those looking for a bit of speed can rent snowmobiles and explore the area that way.

    These same mountains in the summer become fantastic places to hike, from the mountain ridges and weathered buttresses to meadows filled with wildflowers. Guests can start the morning taking the Squaw Valley Aerial Tram up to High Camp, and from there choose from miles of scenic hiking and walking trails. From High Camp, popular trails include the High Camp Loop or the hike between High Camp to the top of the Emigrant Chairlift. Starting from the base area, the Shirley Canyon Trail is one of the best, following waterfalls and granite boulders to some of the best views of Squaw Valley.

    Another day, guests can head down to Tahoe City and spend the day out on Lake Tahoe.
