This secluded cabin rental is located 55 scenic miles from Redding, California. Its rustic exterior belies the clean and modern interior that has most of the comforts of home. Located between flower gardens and forest with views of mountains across the meadows, it consists of three rooms and a full bathroom. A second bathroom adjoining the guest house is available (at no charge) to parties of four or more guests. All bedding and towels are of quality cotton, washed unscented, and line-dried in the fresh mountain sunshine.

The eat-in kitchen seats six and is fully equipped with a large refrigerator/freezer, a stove-top, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a toaster oven that fits a 12" pizza, a toaster, and all cookware and tableware. The private seating area under shady oaks includes chaise-lounges, chairs, a large picnic table with moveable benches, a fire ring with a grill, and a barbecue. Firewood and briquettes are provided.

The living room has a large sofa that opens to a queen-size bed with a memory foam mattress. There is a 43" flat-screen (no TV reception), a DVD player with DVDs for all ages, an air cooler or a gas furnace in season, books, and magazines.

The airy bedroom has a queen-size canopy bed and a twin bed, both with premium mattress sets. There is a queen-size sofa bed in the living room. For larger groups, the hosts offer two additional bedrooms upstairs in the historic 1921 log house located across the garden from the guesthouse. The "east room" has a queen-size bed and a twin bed. The "west room" has a queen-size brass bed. The shared bathroom is downstairs and includes the historic claw-foot tub with shower.

The private splash pool affords relaxing views of a meadow, a garden, and a forest. It has a shade umbrella, a table and chairs, and is sun-warmed. It is drained, cleaned, and refilled between guest groups from June 15 to September 15. Next to it is a shady grape arbor.

Glampers will be enchanted by the beauty of the property's 160 acres of gardens and trails through the private forest along shady creeks, as well as the little forest-ringed lake with a rowboat and a dock with seating. The trails lead into the surrounding Shasta National Forest and even to nearby swimming holes. The property's friendly staff are ready with maps to local sites and driving directions for day-trips to nearby hot springs and swimming holes. Within a one and a half hours drive, there are more waterfalls, lakes, and state and national parks.

Dogs are welcome off the leash, except in the fenced garden. Dogs love romping in the creeks and lake and along the shady trails. The hosts provide towels for dogs, bowls, and a hose at the guesthouse.
