Guests can choose between a wide-range of activity options in nearby Yosemite National Park, both on land and water. On land, hikers can explore more than 750 miles of trails. Cyclists can ride on 12 miles of paved bike paths and the roads that wind through the park. Birdwatchers can keep an eye out for more than 165 species of resident and transitory birds.

Rock climbers can scale a variety of prime climbing spots, such as Half Dome, Merced River Canyon, and the Tuolumne Meadows domes. In the winter, guests will also find marked winter trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, and they can go downhill skiing and snowboarding at the Yosemite Ski and Snowboard Area.

On water, guests will find a number of areas for swimming, such as Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, Lake Eleanor Reservoir, Emerald Pool, Silver Apron, the Dana Fork of the Tuolumne River, and the Merced River—the last of which guests can also go rafting on. For Kayaking, guests can head to Tenaya Lake. The many rivers and lakes of the park also provide waters in which guests can fish.

For antiquing, shopping, and dining, guests will find a variety of options in nearby Mariposa. For wine tasting, guests can visit Casto Oaks Fine Wine and Art, Butterfly Creek Winery, and Silver Fox Vineyards.
