Charming Bed and Breakfast for a Weekend Getaway in Mariposa County, California

About 20 miles to the east, guests will find the western edge of Yosemite National Park, which blends into a number of other national parks and forests to the north and south, encompassing millions upon millions of acres of natural splendor. Nearly 750,000 of those acres are situated within Yosemite, where guests can explore a truly breathtaking array of landscapes and environment, including mountains, granite cliffs, glaciers, valleys, waterfalls, streams, lakes, meadows, chaparral, oak woodlands, and groves of giant sequoias, some of which are nearly 3,000 years old.

These environments, in turn, provide habitats for a wide-range of wildlife species, including bighorn sheep, black bears, red foxes, mountain lions, and 262 species of resident or transitory birds. The park also provides guests with numerous options for outdoor recreation.

About 20 minutes to the east, guests will find Mariposa—a small, historic town that retains its Old West character from its Gold Rush days of yore. Here, guests can enjoy a variety of restaurants, shops, antique stores, and attractions such as the oldest courthouse to the west of the Rocky Mountains and one of the oldest jails in California. The surrounding area also boasts a number of wineries for guests to enjoy. The site is about an hour and 15 minutes from Fresno, where the nearest international airport is located.
