Glamping in California and weekend getaways from Sacramento

This lovely California tent is the ideal choice for two guests to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Weekend getaways in California here will be a peaceful experience and with Camp Far West Lake nearby, guests can look forward to days of swimming and relaxing with a loved one.

The 12-foot tent has a nicely decorated interior and comes with a comfortable mattress with a memory foam topper to ensure a good night's sleep. The hosts offer some other useful additions to ensure a comfortable stay in California including free parking, full bathroom facilities, and an outdoor kitchen that is around a five-minute walk away where guests can cook up some tasty snacks in nature.

When guests want to go for a walk, there's a scenic trail near the lake and they are also welcome to wander the fields where the cows roam free. The hosts do advise guests to bring their own food and a cooler with ice.

There are two ways in. One has an eight mile dirt road which is more bumpy, the other route via Auburn is a three mile dirt road which is usually better maintained. Either way, a Prius can make the drive, just know the road into Heartland is bumpy. If guests are coming from Sacramento or through Sacramento on the way here, the best route is through Auburn.

Come prepared. The nearest store is 30 minutes away.

Glampers will have plenty to do during their vacation in California. Getaways here mean that guests can enjoy a dip in Camp Far West Lake, watch the fantastic sunsets, and walk through the fields with the cows that roam free.

Guests should note that the lake is a reservoir and it is low between Sep-November. Swimming is still possible but the walk to the swimmable area of the lake is longer. During this time the bottom of the lake offers remarkable river hikes and within a 15-minute drive away there is a really scenic clear water swimming hole with a tire swing.

The hosts also recommend a day trip to the famous Yuba river, which is roughly an hour away.
