Just outside of Joshua Tree, California, this unique desert rental has a little bit of southwest flair. The rental can accommodate five guests and features an oversize bedroom with a queen-size bed and lots of drawer space so suitcases can be stowed away out of sight.

The wild, rustic outdoor landscape belies the style, luxury and comfort within this adobe-style casita with high ceilings. With its full kitchen, plush furnishings, and 200-square-foot screened and tile-roofed porch, guests will want for nothing during their stay, no matter what the season.

The kitchen is stocked with coffee, tea, milk, and sweeteners. Glampers will also find an assortment of condiments and spices. In addition, there are dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, mixing bowls, cooking and baking utensils, a coffeemaker, a toaster, a microwave, a refrigerator and freezer, and a range/oven.

Outside, this luxury desert rental has its own barbecue and screened-in sleeping porch with a sitting area and table. It's a great place to dine on balmy evenings or watch wildlife at dawn.

If guests are looking for a place to relax, take a stroll through the casita’s gardens and unwind by the koi pond and waterfall. The casita also has binoculars to enhance the view of the magnificent 360-degree vistas, wildlife, moon, and even the Milky Way. There’s a great library of fiction, nature, human anatomy, and off-grid and healthy living books and magazines for visitors to peruse, as well as a stack of magazines, eclectic spiritual, philosophy, and yoga titles for anyone who wants to curl up with a good read.

The best part of this site is definitely its location. Guests will be right in the middle of the most pristine, untouched natural viewpoints imaginable. Scope out the desert wildlife and enjoy the feeling of total solitude and connection with nature. It’s only a short drive to some incredible hiking spots and trails for guests who want a little bit more physical action. Guests can also enjoy the secluded wildlife reserve close by. Visitors come from around the world to view the dark, starry skies in this part of the California desert. The Milky Way is on display almost every night. Guests can have a telescope delivered to the door for optimal stargazing. Historic Pioneertown, only a five-minute drive (where cowboy movies and TV shows were shot in the 40s and 50s) is still a great destination, with a stunt show shoot-out every Saturday at 2 p.m. and great food and world-class live music at Pappy and Harriet's Pioneertown Palace. Enjoy the healing benefits of a "sound bath" at the one-and-only Integretron a short ride away. On site, guests can play a game of bocce ball on the brand new bowling court or go “mining for stardust” in the Rockhound Wash.
