Wildlife watching
The best part of this site is definitely its location. Guests will be right in the middle of the most pristine, untouched natural viewpoints imaginable. Scope out the desert wildlife and enjoy the feeling of total solitude and connection with nature. It’s only a short drive to some incredible hiking spots and trails for guests who want a little bit more physical action. Guests can also enjoy the secluded wildlife reserve close by. Visitors come from around the world to view the dark, starry skies in this part of the California desert. The Milky Way is on display almost every night. Guests can have a telescope delivered to the door for optimal stargazing. Historic Pioneertown, only a five-minute drive (where cowboy movies and TV shows were shot in the 40s and 50s) is still a great destination, with a stunt show shoot-out every Saturday at 2 p.m. and great food and world-class live music at Pappy and Harriet's Pioneertown Palace. Enjoy the healing benefits of a "sound bath" at the one-and-only Integretron a short ride away. On site, guests can play a game of bocce ball on the brand new bowling court or go “mining for stardust” in the Rockhound Wash. -
