Bohemian Bus on Clothing Optional Property in Point Arena, California
This unique school bus vacation rental in Point Arena, California, is ideally situated just a mile and a half from the Pacific Ocean. The bus, which is a 1985 Chevy with a Detroit diesel engine, is mostly built from recycled and resourced secondhand materials. The host designed it with the idea of “living lightly on the land” in mind, and its appliances all work well with solar power. Because this property is truly off-grid, glampers should monitor their electricity use. There are no toaster ovens, electric heaters, or other appliances like this.
Glampers will find this deluxe bus rental nice and cozy inside. It’s equipped with a full kitchen, a refrigerator, a wood stove, and a queen-size bed. It can comfortably sleep up to two guests. There is even on-demand hot water. It should be noted, though, that the ceiling is only six feet high, so it might not be a great pick for tall people. This unique bus can accommodate children up to 15 years old, and additional bedding is available. That being said, this bus is not child-proofed and is not a good option for small children.
A private toilet is located just a short walk from the bus. The host recommends that guests bring flip flops or another pair of shoes that are easy to slip on and off. These will come in handy for the quick walk to the bathroom. The host also requests that guests not wear shoes inside the bus, as the oak flooring is easily damaged.
The host is open to allowing small, well-groomed dogs (10 pounds or less), but no other pets. There are rules regarding drying off dogs post-beach trips (no sand!), picking up after dogs (shovel provided), and other basic paw wiping when raining.
This property boasts organic gardens, as well as his-and-hers outdoor tubs and an outdoor shower. Please keep in mind that the tubs are drought dependent, and depending upon what this winter brings, may or may not be available. Guests will also have access to Wi-Fi, a landline phone service (free national calls), and covered parking. Additionally, there is a table and chairs outside of the glamping property for guests to relax and adore the views in front of them.

Additional info
The host is generally home, but if she’s not there, another person living on the property will show guests the ropes and explain everything to them upon arrival. When the host is home, she’s available to answer questions and give guidance on the area.
The bus is wood heated, and wood is available for shorter visits, but during longer visits, increased need for wood will be negotiable with the host. Different seasons require different wood usage, and a fee may apply for guests staying longer than a week.
The host composts and recycles, and because this is a rural location, nobody comes to pick up garbage. Recycling and compost bins are provided for guests, but she would really appreciate if guests would take any trash they’ve produced with them when they leave.
The host is open to allowing small, well-groomed dogs (10 pounds or less), but no other pets. There are rules regarding drying off dogs post-beach trips (no sand!), picking up after dogs (shovel provided), and other basic paw wiping when raining.
Though smoking is allowed on the property, it is not allowed inside the bus.
Once guests’ booking request has been confirmed, the host will provide a guide to the property with rules and details.
