There's something spectacular for every member of the family in this year-round Sierra playground. There are more than a million acres of national and state forests, many mountain ranges to hike and ski, 1,000 miles of prized fishing streams and rivers, more than 100 alpine lakes, and 10 mountain golf venues within Plumas County alone.
Golf is very popular here and guests will have access to the Grizzly Ranch Golf Course, which includes practice facilities such as a driving range, short-game area, and putting greens. There is also a shop that has a complete selection of golf equipment, accessories, and attire.
Trout fishing is available in the on-site creek and boating and fishing on Lake Davis is just five minutes up the road.
Guests can explore the virtually limitless trails and varied terrain on foot or mountain bike—or horseback, like the early settlers. Backroads and country lanes are ideal for heart pounding road bikes or more leisurely excursions on single gear cruisers.
When guests are ready for a little civilization, they can try the nearby Gold Rush towns, with their cozy taverns and restaurants and charming antique shops. Here glampers can pan for gold or tour old train cars at Portola's railroad museum. There is also the option to head for the bright lights of Reno and North Lake Tahoe; which can be accessed in under an hour.
