Accommodation Description

This romantic cottage rental for two people that is perfect for weekend getaways in Northern San Diego County, California. It features a single-size bedroom with queen-size bed, a large walk-in closet, a cozy living room and a beautiful limestone bathroom with all the basics waiting for glamper's arrival. Completely private with a full, albeit small; vintage kitchen off the living room. The 1952 Chambers stove is a joy to work with and the full-size refrigerator stocked with organic breakfast items, bottled water, snacks and beautiful organic produce from the farm. There is a coffeemaker with coffee, a toaster, and a microwave waiting for guest's enjoyment.

There is a flat screen TV with a DVD player, a collection of movies, although there is not TV connection but the cottage does have fast WiFi. Glampers will also find there to be a hot tub for private use just steps from the door, in addition to efficient mini-split heating and air conditioning system giving guests control of their environment.

Location + Surroundings

Tucked in the hills of San Diego, this organic subtropical farm is a great centrally located getaway destination. Little known, even to San Diegans, Rainbow, California, is adjacent to Fallbrook and is right off the I-15 freeway, yet the farm seems like it’s miles away from the city. It's just roughly 40 minutes to Oceanside’s beautiful beaches and Carlsbad’s flower fields and Legoland, and an exit south of Temecula’s wine country tours, right in between San Diego and Los Angeles renowned attractions. Twenty-five minutes or so from Cal State San Marcos University, 35 minutes or so from San Diego Wild Animal Park in Escondido and a little over an hour to Seaworld and the world famous Balboa Park.

Guests can come to relax, soak in a private hot tub, and enjoy the night's sky, or even to learn! The farm offers cheesemaking and butter classes, jam and canning classes, and for guests of all ages; the popular hand-churned ice cream activity.

Bird watching, interacting with the friendly miniature Nigerian goats, and the treat-loving alpacas Dusty and Silverado are just some of the many activities available for visitors during their stay at this glamping site. All the hooved livestock appreciate a granola bar or other crunchy treat; especially Carl the criminal.

The gentle miniature Nigerian goats will eat almost anything and Carl the criminal has sworn off stealing from guests but does appreciate Saltine crackers, which is his current favorite nibble. Guests should bring bicycles and enjoy the many miles of dirt roads. Glampers can also walk the farm’s main road which winds through fruiting groves including macadamia, avocado, mulberry, limes, and kumquats. Many guests come for such a short visit they just want to soak up the quiet beauty of this magical spot.

The local farmers’ market is on Saturday and is 15 minutes away in Old Town Temecula, which is a destination in itself. The surrounding area has a number of vineyards eager to showcase their wines. Hot air ballooning is also a local wine country favorite.

The hosts send a comprehensive food shopping map as well as their signature activity guides with every booking confirmation. There is so much to do in and around the area for a fun and exciting, yet relaxing getaway.

Additional Information

There is a $100 security deposit that will be held on the guest's card at the time of confirmation and released back to their card three days after check-out pending no damages.

Please smoke outdoors in designated areas only.

Check-in is at 3 p.m., and check-out is at 12 p.m.; however, the hosts are eager to offer flexible check in and check outs, if doing so does not interfere with another guests’ visit. Please enquire upon booking confirmation. The farm is happy to work around glampers' needs.
