Rainbow Valley

Known for its many palm tree farms and for being the gateway city to Temecula, Rainbow Valley, California was named in the late 1880s after James Peebles Marshall Rainbow bought a homestead in the area. It’s located in the northwest corner of San Diego County, making it easily accessible from both San Diego and Los Angeles. This small town makes the perfect slow paced getaway from the rush of big cities. Surfers should head to the great waves of the Pacific Ocean. Go hang gliding along the windy cliffs, or simply take in the rocky coast. Head to Joshua Tree National Park or the Mojave Desert to see the unique Joshua trees and some of the driest areas in North America.
