Sonoma County is famous for its superb food and wine and is home to more than 500 places to eat, including Michelin-rated restaurants. Glampers who enjoy spending time outdoors will love the Gualala Point Regional Park, which features hiking and biking trails, fishing in the river, picnic areas, and sandy beaches. Nature lovers can spot a variety of birds here, and there are possibilities to see migrating whales along this part of the coast. The Sea Ranch Chapel is definitely worth a visit, as it’s a stunning architectural gem, which resembles a bird taking flight. Constructed from local materials, the peaceful interior features redwood benches, a ceiling embedded with seashells, stained glass windows, and colorful mosaics. Guests can travel further afield to Fort Ross, 20 miles away, where they will discover reconstructed old buildings which recall the fascinating history of the region, including a Russian chapel, a barracks, and a windmill. There’s also a museum offering details about the Native American, Russian, and Spanish heritage of the area.
