The city of Big Bear Lake is on the southern side of Big Bear Lake--the actual lake--and is a haven for year-round outdoor adventure. Those looking to experience more big city life can hit the road and be in Palm Springs in an hour and a half or go a little further and be in Los Angeles in two hours.
