Location + Surroundings
This accommodation is located at a nature resort in Tahoe Vista, California, where it is situated in a forested setting directly across the road from the northern shores of Lake Tahoe. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe is the largest lake by volume in the entire West and second only to the Great Lakes in the country as a whole. Combined with the millions of acres of national forests and state parks that surround it, the Lake Tahoe region is one of the state's premier destinations for outdoor recreation, so much so that the southern end of the lake can get rather crowded during peak seasons. Fortunately, the northern end of the lake, often referred to as North Lake Tahoe or North Shore Lake Tahoe, offers a quieter setting in which to enjoy a comparably wide-range of attractions, activity options, and opportunities to reconnect to the great outdoors.
Right across the road from the accommodation, guests will find the nearest beach access to the lake, which, combined with the complimentary paddleboards and kayaks that guests can borrow, allows them to take full advantage of the lake without having to drive anywhere. Within a 10-minute bike ride (complimentary bikes are available as well), guests can reach North Tahoe Regional Park, where a network of multi-use trails, tennis courts, a disc golf course, and a treetop adventure course await guests' exploration and enjoyment amid a forest of pines, firs, and cedars, which provide habitats for red-tailed hawks, chickadees, and stellar jays.
Within a 10-minute bike ride, guests can also reach the North Tahoe Marina, Old Brockway Golf Course, Kings Beach Miniature Golf, and the Kings Beach State Recreation Area. If guests travel by car, their options will broaden even further, with a variety of attractions located within a 20-minute drive, including, Toiyabe National Forest, the Brockway Summit Tahoe Rim Trail Trailhead, Burton Creek State Park, Skylandia State Park, Tahoe State Recreation Area, Northstar California Resort, and Diamond Peak Ski Resort. Slightly farther afield, guests can reach Donner Memorial State Park, Tahoe National Forest, and Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows Ski Resort within a 30-minute drive.
Guests will find a couple of restaurants right in Tahoe Vista, with more options located within biking distance at Kings Beach, where guests will also find a few sporting shops, art galleries, and service providers. The accommodation is about two hours from Sacramento, three and a half hours from San Francisco, and just 50 minutes from Reno, Nevada, where the nearest international airport is located. Read More
