Before we start, here are 4 THINGS PEOPLE LOVE about the homestead:

1 - The LOCATION is secluded and has amazing views.

2 - We have AIR CONDITIONING to keep you cool during the warmer summer days.

3 - We are CLOSE to everything. We are within minutes of Joshua Tree National Park, downtown Twentynine Palms and the Twentynine Palms Marine Corp Base.

4 - PETS welcome. We charge an additional $25 pet cleaning fee as part of our "Cleaning Fees". If you do not bring any pets with you, we will adjust your reservation fee accordingly.

Here are 4 THINGS TO CONSIDER before renting:

1 - This unique property features 2 separate homes and a vintage travel trailer that are not connected and are very PRIVATE. They do share common spaces of the property for guests to wander, explore and enjoy. Check out The Bungalow https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/19487071

2- Although neighbors are somewhat distant, sound travels far in the desert. NO PARTIES are permitted in our home at any time during your stay.

3 - We ask all our guests to RESPECT the neighbors and to not be loud or yell or play loud music inside and outside the building at any time during their stay. Also, we expect our Guests to be quiet after 10:00 PM. So if you intend to behave with respect our place is for you.

4 - You will have to travel BRIEFLY on a dirt road to get to the property. The dirt road is well maintained and easily driveable by most vehicles.

Now that this is clear, let's get to the description of the place!

Master Bedroom: Queen Bed | Bedroom 2: Full Bed | Living Room: 2 Couches or we can set up a roll-a-way beds upon request.

As you drive onto the property, you can't help but notice the galvanized metal covered structure that is the Homestead. The covered front patio decked out in flagstone greets you as you approach the home. Take a moment to look around you and you'll see Joshua Tree National Park off in the distance. If you're lucky, perhaps our resident roadrunner will grace you with his/her presence.

Step inside to our modern desert boho retreat, complete with 2 bedrooms and 2 full sized bathrooms with unscented eco-friendly shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. As you step down into the dining room, you can't help but notice the custom-made dining room table that seats 8 and just beyond that, french doors lead you out to the back covered patio with a dining table, BBQ, and outdoor fireplace, perfect for entertaining outdoors.

Walk out a little further and you can explore the boatyard and the views of the 29 Palms Marine Corp base and the Bullion Mountain range. At night, you can warm yourself by the outdoor fireplace while enjoying the star-studded skies above.

The next morning, start your day by enjoying a warm cup of coffee on the front patio, taking in the view of the sun rising to the east over JTNP and breathe in the exceptional clear air of the desert while watching for wildlife that calls the desert their home.

When you start to get hungry, head inside and prepare a delicious breakfast for everyone in the well-equipped kitchen with a 5-burner electric stovetop, oven, microwave, and plenty of counter space for extra cooks in the kitchen.

The Homestead and front and rear private patios are available for guests to use. Guests are welcome to explore the boat yard, old trucks and yard art on the property as well. Feel free to hike outside the property making sure to respect any NO TRESPASSING signs you may see, Otherwise it is OK to hike around outside the property and discover at will!

We are great travelers ourselves and we will be happy to assist you when we are in town. When we are away, our friend Patricia will be happy to assist you with all of your needs while staying at the Homestead. Patricia has been a resident of the desert for 24 years and is quite knowledgeable about the area. And we are available to help by telephone at any time.

The Flying Point Homestead is located in a rural area of the desert with views of the surrounding desert and mountains. The diverse clouds against the blue sky are mesmerizing. The night sky is incredible! The twinkling lights of 29 Palms and Marine Corps Base are beautiful to behold at night.

While relaxing outdoors, you'll likely see desert iguanas, jack rabbits, road runners and other wildlife that inhabit the desert.

While we do have public transportation in town (Morongo Basin bus line runs from eastern 29 Palms to Morongo Valley on route 62), service to the outlying rural areas is difficult. There are several taxi services available though.

WEATHER: We recommend that guests come prepared for the weather here in the desert. In the winter, the days are pleasant but the nights can get rather chilly.

Spring and fall are some of our favorite times of the year as the weather is just right. Not too hot, not too cold. Best to dress in layers.

As for the summers, the day time highs average in the upper 90s to the low 100s. We recommend you stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and plan any outdoor activities such as hiking or rock climbing for the early mornings or late evenings.

CLEANING: -The house is professionally cleaned prior to each guest's arrival. When you leave, do your best to leave the property in the same condition as when you arrived (minus normal usage of course).

SEPTIC SYSTEM: The property uses a Septic System for waste removal. Please do not discard ANYTHING in the sinks (i.e. no food waste down kitchen sink) or toilet (other than the provided toilet paper). Following this policy will help avoid problems with the plumbing.

TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX - A 7% TOT (aka bed tax) tax required by San Bernardino County is included in the nightly rate. Currently, Airbnb does not yet allows hosts to list this fee as an extra line item, therefore we have included the TOT in the base price.
