Cascade Locks
Settled beside the Columbia River is the small yet charming city of Cascade Locks in Hood River County, northern Oregon. The Columbia River marks the state line between Oregon and Washington, with the famous steel truss cantilever Bridge of the Gods nearby to join the two. Being so close to the state line means getting to enjoy things on both sides! On the Oregon side, there’s Mt Hood National Forest right on the doorstep, Eagle Creek Trailhead for all you keen hikers, and a 45-minute drive to the bustling metropolis of Portland. Across the river, there’s the spectacular Table Mountain, Skamania Lodge Golf Course for an afternoon on the green, and the vast expanse of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Whichever side you’re on, there’s never a dull moment!
