This area is fabulous whether it's the hottest months of summer or the depths of winter! Timberline Ski Lodge is just 13 miles away from where there are year-round skiing and snowboarding (there are tons of pros here in July!). SkiBowl is less than a mile down the road for some of the best night skiing in America, and Mt. Hood Meadows is less than 15 miles away from where there is a variety of terrain, including backcountry.
Besides all the great riding in cooler months, there's so much to do here for any type of adventure! Mt. Hood provides numerous hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as panoramic vistas to see and lakes for swimming in. There's an avid fishing scene thanks to the fresh streams, lakes, and rivers from Mt. Hood's peak, as well as other adorable mountain towns like Welches and Rhododendron.
There's alway something to explore in this region, and "Govy" is a fantastic mountain town with shopping, dining, and bars to hop around. Government Camp is a welcoming and fun place to hang out, but the Columbia River Gorge and Hood River are just 45 miles away, as well as the city of Portland less than 60 miles away!
