Lakeside

The charming city of Lakeside, Coos County, is located on the Pacific West Coast of Oregon. This gorgeous spot offers visitors an excellent variety of scenery, from sandy dunes and beaches to dense forests and tranquil lakes. The city itself is settled right beside Tenmile Lake, with William M. Tugman State Park and Eel Lake on the northern edge of town. Eel lake is, unsurprisingly, full of eel, and the surrounding forest is a great spot for hiking. A short way north along the coast is Oregon Dune National Recreation Area, where 40 miles of wind-sculpted sand dunes await the intrepid explorer. Other noteworthy spots include Elliott State Forest and Umpqua Lighthouse State Park, where there’s more camping, fishing, and hiking.
