North Powder

North Powder is a quaint, sleepy little city in Union County, northern Oregon. It is located just a few miles east of Umatilla National Forest, where popular activities and pastimes include canoeing, camping, fishing, and cross-country skiing. To the east of North Powder lie the rugged canyonlands and high mountain lakes of Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, where visitors can partake in hiking, fishing, and camping. Other nearby points of interest include Rock Creek Butte, Phillips Lake, and Snake River. The city can be found approximately 100 miles south of the Washington state line. Winter visitors may want to check out the skiing and snowboarding at Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort, which is a mere 12-minute drive outside of town.
