Secluded and Romantic Cordwood Cabin Rental near Mt. Hood, Oregon
"We really LOVED our time here at this little cabin. So much charm and history. Beautifully decorated. Cozy , clean, romantic . Close to everything yo…"
Set in Oregon and built by two Alaskan prospectors in the 1920s, this secluded and romantic cabin rental is the only cordwood cabin on Mt. Hood. This construction uses log slices in its walls, giving this cabin its endearing polka dot exterior. Its rough-hewn timber beams and original fireplace maintain its historical roots, while the décor is updated with a vintage and modern sensibility.
Inside, this cabin can sleep up to four guests and comes with a well-appointed kitchen. The cabin consists of two small buildings just a few feet from each other. In the "main cabin", guests will find the living space, kitchen, loft with one queen bed, and a brand new bathroom with a soaking tub. In the "side cottage", guests will find one bedroom set with a queen-size bed with Hungarian goose down comforter. A second bathroom is located in this side cottage, featuring a rainfall shower head.
In the main cabin, guests can cozy up by the fireplace, which was assembled by hand with local river rock. Enjoy the hand-carved wooden staircase to the loft where there is a 37-inch flat-screen TV. Here guests can stream movies, news, or sports via Roku, enjoy the HD DVD player, or settle down with a nice book. There is an additional queen-size bed which serves as an additional sleeping or seating area.
Though there are many restaurants nearby, the kitchen is stocked for cabin-cooked meals. Guests will enjoy the use of All-Clad and cast iron pots and pans, Wusthof knives, bakeware, spices, and sugar. Extras include a fondue pot, a crockpot, and a dutch oven. Coffee lovers can start their day by using the espresso machine, the french press or the provided classic drip. There are also complimentary roasted coffee beans, a selection of teas, and hot cocoa.
Note: One night stays are allowed if a) reserving within 10 days of arrival or b) surrounding nights are already booked, leaving only one night available.
Facilities include general appliances including a washer and dryer, as well as a hairdryer. Additionally, guests will have a wood-burning stove, central heating, wall and portable heaters in the side cottage, and Wi-Fi. Guests will also find linens, parking, and a landline.
