The town of Seaside is a charming beachside community, filled with vintage landmarks. The cozy old cinema, for example, provides an intimate film experience for moviegoers. The local aquarium, meanwhile, has been in existence since the 30s, but of course, has been kept up to date with a general aesthetic that asserts the town's claim to the warm glamor of an older time. For more modern attractions, visitors can make the short trip north to Astoria, where a modern cineplex awaits. While there, guests can investigate the towns numerous microbreweries and sites, including the town's maritime museum and the Astoria Column. While there, they can also stop over at the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, where the famous men wintered before beginning the trip back east. Hiking and trails exist only a little further east, in the interior's many state parks and nature preserves, including the Clatsop National Forest.
