Inside, guests will find one queen-size bed in a private bedroom and one futon in the sitting room. It is conveniently equipped with a kitchenette including, a hot plate, an under counter refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, a coffee maker and an electric tea kettle. A propane barbecue is on the front porch and Rob will have a campfire ready to light upon your arrival. Guests have access to the farm, can walk among the gardens, visit the chickens and see what's going on in the greenhouses. They can't forget to save enough time to toast marshmallows over the campfire, too! Children will love the swing set, and there's enough space to work off their energy.

This private farm is located on beautiful Puget Island in Washington and set along the lower Columbia River and offers a reason to visit year-round. The property itself sits serenely among the farm's flower and vegetable gardens. Guests who stay here are about 50 miles downstream from Portland and about 25 miles upstream from Astoria. The closest towns are Cathlamet in Wahkiakum County (about three miles from the guest cottage) and Longview in Cowlitz County, about 20 miles distance. This property is ideal for a birding, biking, kayaking or fishing trip or use as overflow lodging for your guests. Fish locally for salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon—the host will provide guests with up-to-the-minute fishing reports. The island and surrounding waterways provide many miles of protected kayak paddling and 30 flat miles for bicycling plus world-class birding! Guests who stay here can stroll around the farm, check out the vegetable gardens, gather eggs and admire the gardens, whatever suits their frame of mind!
Guests can relax on-site by roasting marshmallows over the campfire, launching a kayak from the property, bird watching from the porch or take a bicycle ride around the island. Check-in is at 2 p.m., and check-out is at 11 a.m. Check-in and check-out times may be flexible. Please check with the hosts if wishing to extend a stay.
Guests must be reasonably quiet after 10 p.m. Kids and dogs must be under parental supervision at all times.
This rental is a non-smoking structure; however, smoking outside is permitted as long as cigarette butts are not left on the property.
Dogs are welcome with a pet fee of $10 a day, payable upon reservation. Guests are asked to please pick up after their pets. All dogs must be on a leash when outside of the cottage, as there are deer and other wildlife, and the hosts do not want them to be chased.
Guests are asked to please tidy up on their way out, including washing dishes. There is a recycle bin on the front porch. If the cottage trash cans need to be emptied, please empty them into the dumpster near the old barn. Please do not flush anything down the toilet besides toilet tissue.
