Description of Glamping Units
Set on Whidbey Island in Washington, this two-story, 2,730 square-foot, vintage farmhouse near the beach can sleep up to 12 guests and comes set with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Guests will find three queen-size beds, and four single beds, plus a crib on the second floor with two new bathrooms. The bedroom on the main floor has a queen-size bed and is located next to the main bathroom. This rental also comes set with a comfortable couch, two single size sleeping mats and a cot for extra guests.
The kitchen comes well equipped with a new glass top, two ovens, an electric range, a microwave, and full-size refrigerator. There is a good selection of dishes and cooking equipment including a great library of cookbooks. The living room looks to views both east and west. There are a piano and great collection of books and games to entertain as guests cuddle under an alpaca blanket in front of the fireplace.
The house is surrounded by a cottage garden with roses, herbs, and cutting flowers. There are large expanses of grass and native plantings. The site has wonderful privacy as the nearest house is over 300 feet away to the north and south and on the other side of the Maxwelton Valley to the east. The west is open to a huge view over Useless Bay and the mountains and miles of beach for walking. The beach and wetland pasture attract a rich variety of local and migrating birds. This property is perched on a ridge with views to east and west and is exquisitely sited on 740 feet of high bank waterfront. Guests will be among 25 acres overlooking Useless Bay and the Olympic Mountains to the west, as well as the Maxwelton Valley to the east. It perches like the eagle's nest beside it, taking in magnificent views of the sun rising over the steaming pasture and wetlands, alpacas grazing just outside the windows and velvet sunsets over the mountains and sound. There is a herd of 22 alpacas and a guard llama. Alpacas are wonderful animals and entertaining to watch. The alpaca pasture is just outside the living room window and guests can arrange to join the farm manager for morning feeding. Deception Pass State Park is Washington’s favorite state park. Visitors flock to see the spectacular bridge and Pass. Due to Whidbey Island’s temperate climate, diverse birds and waterfowl winter here, including an abundance of bald eagles. Fishing is popular in Cranberry Lake and in waters surrounding the Island. Charters are available at Cornet Bay’s marina. Furthermore, sightseeing, dining, and whale-watching cruises are available from many nearby sites.
