Cougar

Cougar is a small community located on the banks of Yale Lake in Cowlitz County, Washington. There are many natural attractions to visit in this area, with many parks and forests just a short distance away and easily accessible by car. Cougar Park, Yale Park, and Beaver Bay Park are all on the lake itself - ideal spots for a peaceful afternoon stroll. Those who are in search of more serious hiking trails can head over to Lava Canyon Trailhead or Trail of Two Forests Interpretive Site, which offer plenty of options for various skill levels. Climbing and mountaineering can be found at Lakeview Peak, which is just under an hour away. Other points of interest include Mt St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Ape Caves, and Windy Ridge Viewpoint.
