Admiral Inlet is across the way and acts as the main thoroughfare for all ships coming in and out of Puget Sound. Cruise ships heading to Alaska will be seen during the summer months. Beyond the inlet are the stunning Olympic Mountains. Bird lovers will enjoy watching for the goldfinches, blue jays, hummingbirds, eagles that frequent the area and rabbits and deer are often seen roaming the grounds. The sunsets are stunning and on a clear day, Canada is within sight.
Seattle is one hour and 45 minutes away and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport can be reached inside of two hours as well.

Freeland has an abundance of things to offer visitors. There is an expansive public beach for swimming, strolling along the water's edge, or simply soaking up the sun. Antiques and art are a big part of Freeland with stores and galleries lining the main street. There are also a variety of restaurants serving everything from home-cooked meals to upscale local dishes.
Freeland is situated between Holmes Harbor and Mutiny Bay, both outstanding bodies of water featuring boat launches, making getting out on the water a breeze. The entire area offers miles of beaches and acres of lakes for visitors to take advantage of. Hiking, biking, and golfing are plentiful as well.
Deception Pass Bridge is a great place to go to watch people salmon fishing and canopy tree climbing is also offered here.
The islands of Whidbey and Camano are described as the "paradise for outdoor experiences." Miles of trails for walking and hiking, country roads for biking, horseback riding, and zip lining through the forest are just a few of the options available on the islands. The wildlife viewing is also tremendous and spring at Meerkerk Gardens is not to be missed.
