Mead

The charming small town of Mead is located just north of Spokane in Spokane County, Washington. Most things in this area are named Spokane - the city, the valley, the river, and the mountain. Mt. Spokane State Park is a popular spot for skiing and snowboarding during the winter months. Mead is just a short distance west of the Idaho state line, as well as being south of Colville National Forest. Combined with its proximity to Riverside State Park, this is a good spot for hiking - keen hikers should remember to bring their boots! Other popular sites to visit in the area are Cat Tails Zoological Park, which is a private zoo full of big cats, and Boulder Beach, located on the banks of Spokane River.
