Description of Glamping Units
This bright and airy beach house vacation rental boasts unbeatable views of the Mississippi Sound and the Gulf of Mexico in Dauphin Island, Alabama. The vibrant beach house is set right on the sand and has four bedrooms and two bathrooms to comfortably accommodate ten guests.
Vaulted ceilings and brightly colored walls welcome guests into the beach home. The fully-equipped kitchen overlooks the entire living area and functions as the heart of the rental, where guests come together for great chats and even better meals. A fridge, an oven, a stove, a microwave, a toaster, an icemaker, a dishwasher, and a coffeemaker, are all spaced out along the U-shaped countertop with four short stools beside it, creating a casual bar space for guests to relax. Out the kitchen window, guests will be able to soak up a picturesque view of the Gulf of Mexico, just like the one available to them on the ocean-facing porch. The open kitchen also comes stocked with silverware, cooking ware, and utensils to further ensure all cooking needs are taken care of when meal preparation time approaches.
Large picture windows open up the front of the house, letting the sun shine in on guests as they unwind on any of the three comfortable couches. A flat-screen TV in the corner of the living room sets glampers up for movie nights with the whole family. Guests not interested in the movie might still like to hang out nearby and can do so at the six-seater dining room table also at the front of the living area. The table is ideal for sharing meals and playing games late into the night.
Each of the five bedrooms sports a fun tropical theme, with varying vivid colors on the walls, and hosts its own mounted flat screen television for guest’s viewing pleasure. Most of the bedrooms also have an ocean-facing window, allowing guests to wake up to gorgeous views of waves lulling, seagulls flying, and the sand glistening, waiting for glampers to join in on the fun.
In the master bedroom, guests will be able to rest their heads on a comfortable king-size bed sporting a darling seashell quilt. The bathroom beside the master bedroom hosts a shower/bathtub combination, a toilet, and a sink, and is shared with other bedrooms in the house.
Home to fluffy queen-size beds, the second and third bedroom are each painted different shades of blue, with white bedding spread across each mattress, creating a soothing environment for rest and relaxation. In the fourth bedroom, guests will discover two sets of twin-size bunk beds, ideal for families with children, since four guests will be able to sleep in the same room. The second bathroom, found on the opposite side of the beach house, is home to a toilet, a bathtub/shower combination, and a sink. Linens and bath towels are provided, and a washer/dryer inside the rental makes it easy for guests to run loads of laundry.
Although the charming and homey interior of the house tempts guests to stay in all day, the best part of the beach house is right outside the door. Whether reading a great book in any of the chaise lounges or snacking at one of the tables on the deck, the outside patio hosts amazing views of the Gulf of Mexico and the Mississippi Sound, just steps away from the rental. A charcoal grill outside means that glampers will even be able to cook mouth-watering meals while watching the sun go down on the horizon. Read More

Dauphin Island has not only rich vistas but a rich history, as well. For a day spent learning about one of America’s most endangered historic sites and looking out across beautiful panoramic views of the Gulf of Mexico, guests should be sure to visit Fort Gaines.
Fort Gaines has been sitting on the eastern tip of the island battling the elements, protecting the entrance of Mobile Bay since the Civil War, resulting in shoreline erosion, making it one of the Eleven Most Endangered Historic Sites in America.
Guided tours of the fort are hosted by guides sporting unique costumes, meticulously designed to replicate uniforms from the Civil War period that soldiers at Fort Gaines would have worn. The tour guides lead guests through each part of the fort, bringing it to life through a cannon firing demonstration and a blacksmithing tutorial. Visitors are encouraged to hunker down and barrel through tunnels that have been carefully preserved over the past 150 years and connect different part of the fort. Although the fort itself is the main attraction, in the surrounding area, guests will find blacksmith shop, a museum, and a gift shop.
Another trip worth taking is to the Dauphin Island Audubon Bird Sanctuary, an ideal spot for seeing incredible birds migrate to and from Central and South America. Common birds found in Alabama range from the American Crow to the Bald Eagle to the Blue Jay to the Cooper’s Hawk to the Northern Cardinal, and many more. More than 95% of these birds are known to have passed through Dauphin Island during their migratory path and stop in at the 137-acre sanctuary to rest along the way. The Audubon Bird Sanctuary prides itself on protecting many of the species that pass through and providing an ideal environment for the birds to reproduce and foster a new generation.
Dauphin Island’s reputation as a low-key, relaxed vacation destination is largely due to the white sandy beaches that span the island and foster ideal environments for serene swims, sunbathing, and long walks along the soft shore. Dauphin Island Public Beach is a fantastic spot for guests to visit since it hosts not only the postcard-like beach, but also nearby trails, parks, and exhibits for guest to investigate while spending the day in the area. The Public Beach is pet-friendly, as well, so guests are more than welcome to bring their furry friends to splash alongside them in the water.
Nearby Dauphin Island Marina facilitates water rentals on the island, should guests wish to take boats, jet skis, kayaks, paddleboards, and more out on the water during their stay. Guests aboard the pontoon rentals have been known to spot dolphins while out on Gulf.
