This spacious cabin rental overlooks the Ouachita River and can accommodate a group of eight people comfortably. There are two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a half bathroom. The loft bedroom contains three queen-size beds and the second bedroom has full-size bunk beds. Linens are provided. In the living room, guests will also find a full-size sofa and recliner. This secluded cabin is located on a bluff overlooking the Ouachita River in west-central Arkansas in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains. The cabin is in a great location for a getaway with Hot Springs 45 miles to the west and Mena 35 miles to the east. Hot Springs is famous for its natural hot spring spas and horse racing, while Mena is known for Queen Wilhelmina State Park, which contains the second highest mountain in the state. The cabin is about 10 miles from the famous quartz crystal mines of Mount Ida, and 60 miles from Murfreesboro, the only diamond mine in North America. The Ouachita River is well known for its year-round fishing. Bigger fish come from the lake to spawn in late February and March. Smallmouth bass are the most abundant, but there are also catfish, largemouth bass, stripers, perch, and crappie in the river. There are also a number of nearby mountain ponds that are stocked and maintained by the Ouachita National Forest Service. The cabin borders Ouachita National Forest with easy access to over 700 miles of trails for mountain biking, hiking, ATV's, interpretive, and equestrian. The popular Womble Trail is a 38-mile single track trail, while the Ouachita Trail has challenging terrain and ascents to many mountain tops. Rock climbing is also available nearby at the Fiddlers Rock.
After all of these adventures, guests can enjoy a relaxing spa day in nearby Hot Springs. They can rent canoes, kayaks, or river tubes on site for a fun-filled river trip. The recreation area includes swimming, fishing, volleyball, basketball, tetherball, Bocce ball, rope swings, and horseshoes.
