About this place
A beautiful state park within a 1.5-hour drive of Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Hattiesburg, MS - campers can hike, bike, boat, fish and even book a guided horseback trail ride
This campsite is located at the northwest corner of the park, past the cabin areas. This site is secluded with views overlooking hills and forest. This is perfect for the camper wishing to be secluded and enjoy the serenity of nature.
The state park is located off Louisiana State Highway 25 south of Franklinton, in Washington Parish.
Bogue Chitto State Park has a visitors center, a conference room, picnic pavilions, and a lodge overlooking a 90-foot (27 m) bluff. There is a canoe and tubing launch into the Bogue Chitto River, fishing piers, an amphitheater, and a water playground. The site contains eleven lakes stocked with freshwater fish. There are more than 7 miles (11 km) of nature trails and 14 miles (23 km) of equestrian trails. Bogue Chitto is also home to a beautiful, moderately difficult 9 hole disc golf course, winding through hilly wooded terrain. In addition, a new mountain bike trail is opening April 10 and will feature climbs, descents, switchbacks, and a Big Zephyr.
The site is approximately 1.5 miles from the entrance, driven all on paved and dirt road. This site cannot accommodate an RV due to its location and the size of parking. On the deck of your tent, there are no other sites visible allowing for privacy! At the campsite, you can enjoy partial shade, with little service coverage allowing you to unplug, but still stay connected!
