About this place

Enjoy relaxing views of Lake Ponchartrain and the fishing pier from your tent deck - easy access to the sand beach

Located on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain only one hour from New Orleans, Fontainebleau State Park was once the site of a sugar cane plantation. Today, Fontainebleau State Park offers 2800 acres for campers to enjoy and explore. Fontainebleau is surrounded by water on 3 sides and provides countless options for activities, including fishing, boating, swimming, and sunbathing on the sandy beach of Lake Pontchartrain. There are nature trails to hike and explore - keep your eyes open for the many different types of birds who make their homes in the park! There is an old railroad track that has been converted into the Tammany Trace by the Rails to Trails program, which serves as an excellent path for biking, walking or inline skating.

Beachside K is the closest tent to the park's sandy beach. Located approximately 1.5 miles from the park entrance, campers will park approximately 100 feet from the tent and cross the sand to gain access to your site. This partially shaded site has memorable views of the lake and overlooks the entire beach as well. There are no other tents nearby. The site features a spacious 10 x 12 platform tent with a queen bed as well as a pop-up tent that can accommodate 4 additional campers. A picnic table, firepit, and two Adirondack chairs are also included. There is a camping potty at your campsite for convenience. Campers will also have access to a modern bathhouse for showers and park restrooms approximately 0.5 miles from the campsite.

Site Guidelines
- YOU MUST CHECK IN BEFORE 5 pm to make it safely across the water before dark.
- Pack your own food, water, firewood, bedding, bug spray and flashlights
- There is no electricity, AC, or heater at your campsite, pack accordingly
- Anything you pack in, you must pack out. This is "leave no trace" camping and all sites will be inspected for cleanliness and damages before the next camper
- All trash MUST be deposited in the designated trash receptacle that is labeled on the map. Please notes : If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee of at least $50
- Pets are allowed. Please keep all pets on leashes(we recommend 6 ft), and DO NOT let your pets near or swim in any bodies of water.
- Please remember to respect and keep your distance from our wildlife in the park. Feeding any wildlife is prohibited. Be aware and watch all surrounding areas when going off trail.

Upon check out, you should leave no trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While the host does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in, and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the state park property, the host reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!
