About this place

Situated on the winding Tickfaw River in Southeastern Louisana, Tickfaw State Park is a great destination for nature lovers and those looking for a relaxing weekend getaway.

Strolling on the boardwalk in the park, visitors can experience the sights and sounds of a cypress/tupelo swamp and two types of forest. The river's name is derived from the Choctow phrase meaning Rest Among the Pines.

There are four hiking trails in the 1200-acre preserve and campers can bring canoes and kayaks to enjoy a paddle on the river; nighttime hikes are a favorite activity in this park. The park also features a nature center with an 800-gallon aquarium.

Woodland E is located approximately 0.5 miles from the park entrance. This partially shaded woodland site has drive-up parking for one vehicle at the tent for easy unloading. Your double campsite features two spacious 10 x 12 platform tents each with a queen bed as well as two pop-up tents that can each accommodate 4 additional campers. (Up to 12 campers total at this site.) A picnic table, firepit and two Adirondack chairs are also included. Running water is available with a campsite water spigot. There is a Tentrr Loo (camping potty) at your campsite for convenience. Campers will also be able to use restrooms and showers in the adjacent primitive camping area. And, if the temperature dips, you can keep warm with the propane heater inside the main platform tent.

Note: If you have a 2nd car - you can park it at the nearby bathhouse.

The Space:
Just 30 minutes from Baton Rouge and a little over an hour from New Orleans, campers at this popular state park can explore inviting hiking trails and access the Tickfaw River

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the state park property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding your reservation, Tentrr Customer Support can be reached at (888) 798-9093 or at [email protected].

Other Things to Note:
- Do pack your own food, firewood, bedding, bug spray and flashlights
- There is no electricity at your Tentrr site
- No running water at this site but a 5-gallon water jug is provided
- Anything you pack in, you must pack out. This is "leave no trace" camping.
- All trash MUST be deposited in a designated receptacle at the end of your stay
- If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee
- Have a wonderful stay!
