Family Glamping Adventure| Zwolle Louisiana
Located an hour and 20 minutes south of Shreveport, North Toledo Bend State Park welcomes anglers and families looking to enjoy time on the water. Situated in rolling pine forests that border Toledo Bend Reservoir, this park features boat rentals, a boat launch and a fish cleaning station. Organizations associated with the reservoir host numerous freshwater fishing competitions at this location.
The park also features a swimming pool that is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day although the pool operates on a modified schedule after August 1 please check the park website for exact hours of operation.
There are two trails to explore in this park: the 1.5-mile Dogwood nature loop and a four-mile hiking/biking trail that winds through the forest.
Your campsite is located approximately 2 miles from the park entrance and can accommodate up to 12 campers. The partially-shaded hike-in site is located about 60 ft from where you park and is within walking distance of Lookout Point. It features two spacious 10 x 12 platform tents with queen beds and two pop-up tent that can accommodate 4 additional campers each. The campsite also features picnic table, firepits and Adirondack chairs. There is a camping toilet at your campsite for convenience. Campers will also be able to access modern bathhouses for showers and restrooms at the park but these facilities are some distance from the tent. And, if the temperature dips, you can keep warm with the propane heater inside the main platform tent.
The Space:
Situated on the shores of the souths largest man-made reservoir, North Toledo Bend State Park is a refreshing freshwater paradise known for bass fishing, boating and water sports.
Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While thee host does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.
If a host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or to state park property, The host reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!
Other Things to Note:
- Do pack your own food, firewood, bedding, bug spray and flashlights
- Check-in is at 3pm
- There is no electricity at your site
- No running water at this site but a 5-gallon water jug is provided
- Dogs are welcome but please pick up after your pet
- Anything you pack in, you must pack out. This is "leave no trace" camping.
- All trash MUST be deposited in a designated receptacle at the end of your stay - If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee
