Historic Getaway on a Private Farm near Marathon Lake in North Forest, Mississippi
The historic farmhouse will stun glampers as soon as they pull in the drive, from the gorgeous wrap-around front porch to the Victorian-era molding to the elegantly decorated interior. Each of the three bedrooms are furnished with antique rugs and armoires, lacy curtains, and carved wooden beds. Two of the rooms have double beds, while the third has a queen-size bed and a single bed. The private bathrooms have claw-foot porcelain tubs for a luxurious soak after an action-packed day. The kitchen, which has soothing white cabinets and countertops, opens up to the dining room, where six guests can dine around the beautiful table in the lavish plum-colored room. Each of the two salon areas has ample seating space, with upholstered armchairs and plush patterned sofas surrounding polished coffee tables by the windows in both sitting rooms. On the porch, guests can recline in one of the many rocking chairs or swinging benches situated on the wooden deck, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere of Mississippi and the Marathon Lake area.
The farmhouse has three bedrooms and two private bathrooms, accommodating up to 9 guests at a time. Linens are provided, and guests staying for longer than a week will have access to the washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped with large appliances including an oven, a stove, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, and cooking utensils. The living room has a television and there are two log fireplaces in the salons. There is also a collection of board games and outdoor games, as well as the pond in the backyard. Guests will also have plenty of parking space outside.

Central Mississippi is also a wonderful place to explore, from eating out in one of the local restaurants in nearby Sebastopol, Walnut Grove, or Harperville, to heading into Bienville National Forest for a hike or some great fishing around Marathon Lake. The national forest also offers horseback riding on one of the many trails winding throughout its 178,000 acres. The city of Jackson, which is just under 60 miles away, is also a wonderful hub for learning about the history of Mississippi, either on one of the city's many heritage tours or in the informative Old Capital Museum. Jackson also offers a bustling and diverse range of restaurants, bars, and music venues for guests' enjoyment at night.
