Grandview

Located in Tennessee’s rural Rhea County, the appropriately named settlement of Grandview offers great access to the rural backcountry of southern Appalachia. Whether it’s local trails and fishing ponds around the town itself, sites such as the Piney River and Stinging Fork Falls, or tackling the recently formed Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail, outdoors enthusiasts will find themselves in hiking heaven. The latter, still a work in progress, currently has 210 miles of trail ready for hiking, taking visitors through otherwise remote regions of the Cumberland Plateau. Designed by hikers for hikers, this trail is designed to be environmentally sensitive while opening up the stunning views, lush forests, and complex eco-systems of the region to fellow lovers of the wild.
