Greeneville

Greenville, Tennessee, located in the east of the state and named after Revolutionary War hero Nathaniel Greene, contains a wealth of historic buildings from the 19th century reflecting its prosperous heyday when its strategic location along various trade routes made the town rich. As if historic charm were not enough, the town is a perfect destination for hikers, mountain-bikers, and other nature enthusiasts wishing to visit the nearby Great Smokey Mountains National Park which contains some of the most epic and pristine montane wilderness in the eastern USA, including the largest area of old-growth forest east of the Mississippi and a complex eco-system including fauna ranging from bobcats to salamanders and hummingbirds. Music lovers will also wish to pay a visit to nearby Bristol, the birthplace of Country Music and Knoxville, whose varied music scene has led to it being called “Austin without the hype”.
