Hornsby

Located in western Tennessee, the small town of Hornsby is perfect for wildlife lovers thanks to its proximity to the Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge. Wildlife watchers, photographers, and hikers will want to explore this protected area which follows the Hatchie River for 23 miles through varied landscapes of farmland, wetland, and forest. The wildlife within the park itself ranges from reptiles such as the box turtle to white-tailed deer and fox squirrels. However, most impressive of all is the area’s bird population ranging from the beautiful wood duck to, at scenic Oneal Lake, that skilled aerial fisherman, the osprey, and the majestic bald eagle itself, making this area a birdwatcher’s dream. In addition, few music lovers will be able to resist the temptation to make the short drive west from Hornsby to Memphis and Elvis Presley’s storied Graceland.
