Lynchburg

The town of Lynchburg, Tennessee, most famous for its whiskey distillery producing one of the world’s most famous drink brands, is located in central Tennessee and simply radiates down-home, country charm. It’s 19th century downtown, built after a fire destroyed the original, is a registered historic district with its courthouse and many businesses and houses dating from that era. Lovers of the outdoors will want to visit nearby Tims Ford State Park whose lake is popular with boating, walking, and fishing enthusiasts as well as photographers and wildlife watchers. Meanwhile, golfers can play at the town’s golf course, designed by superstar Jack Nicklaus. No matter if you are a history buff, outdoors lover, a sports fan, or just want an escape from the city to a town that famously only has one traffic light, Lynchburg makes for the perfect Tennessee vacation.
