Due to its proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, hiking is a particularly popular activity in this area. There are many trails to choose from, some of which incorporate rock climbing as well. Spending a day or more in the mountains is highly recommended as the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. The entrance to the park is accessible by car, just a short drive from the cabin. There are also a number of rivers, creeks, and valleys to explore nearby, adding some variety to the walking terrain.
