Buchanan Dam

Buchanan Dam is a small community located in the heart of Texas Hill Country in Llano County, Texas. It sits along the banks of Buchanan Lake, forming much of the west and south of the lakeside. The Colorado River flows in at the north of the lake and out through the south, where it continues down to meet the Llano River at Kingsland. There are several charming natural spots to visit, including Inks Lake State Park, Longhorn Cavern State Park, and Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Reserve, all of which are within easy reach by car. Another spot worth visiting is Llano Slab, a popular area with locals and tourists alike for basking in the sun and taking a dip in the cool, clear waters of the Llano River.
