Conroe

This fast growing city in southeast Texas is named after the Union cavalry officer Isaac Conroe. Conroe, Texas gained wealth in the lumber and oil industries and the area continued to see an influx of residents. The area has a humid subtropical climate, meaning summers are hot and humid and winters have mild to cool temperatures. Be sure to drink plenty of water, and find a body of water where you can go cool off for the day. The city lies seven miles southeast of Lake Conroe, which in turn lies on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River.
