Howe

This area in northeast Texas was first settled by white pioneers after the Texas Revolution in 1836. Later the Houston and Texas Central Railway developed through the area and Howe, Texas slowly developed. Head here in May to celebrate Founders Day, an annual event with vendors, a rodeo, horseshoes, and more.Since this area is humid subtropical and temperatures can be extremely high, the best thing to do is find a body of water to cool off in. It’s just south of Lake Texoma, which shares a border with Oklahoma. Another nearby place is Lake Ray Roberts. Ray Roberts Lake State Park has heavily wooded hiking and equestrian trails around the lake, along with a marina for boating. For your next glamping excursion, make sure Howe, Texas is included.
