Poetry

The site of Poetry, Texas was officially settled in 1858, but it didn’t receive its unique name until 1876. A local merchant claimed that this area in the springtime reminded him of a poem, indicating that this town will make a memorable glamping trip destination. Summers here can be extremely hot and humid, so you’re best bet is to find a watering hole to cool off in. To the east is Lake Tawakoni where glampers can go swimming, paddleboarding, canoeing, or boating. Head to Lake Tawakoni State Park to hiking or biking through prairie and woodlands. It also has five miles of shoreline for swimming, boating and fishing. Wind Point Park also has a fishing pier for those looking to catch their dinner. For a remote and scenic glamping trip, head to Poetry, Texas.
