There is plenty of natural beauty around Stockdale. The Choke Canyon Reservoir is particularly recommended. San Antonio itself offers a massive array of activities. Trying the local chili con carne is an excellent way to get into the right mindset. Perhaps the most famous landmark is the Alamo. A former mission, this site has been a crossroads of history, having existed under six flags of independent nations and having garrisoned five different armies. San Antonio's river is also a particularly important attraction. Not only are there guided river walks, which take you past many of the city's cultural monuments, but there are also river cruises that end at the Tower of the Americas, giving an excellent view over the entire city. The city also boasts several amusement parks, including a SeaWorld, a Six Flags theme park, and Morgan's Wonderland, a unique park that caters for disabled people and their families.
