Edgewater

A city in the county of Volusia, Edgewater is a quaint location that sits near Mosquito Lagoon and the pretty sands of Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park. As such, it’s a great location for water lovers looking to enjoy some fun in the sun. The beach park, dedicated to its namesake person who fought for the preservation of green spaces, offers 6 acres of sandy beach for public use. The peaceful park is home to a pretty coastline, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance nearby. Near Edgewater is also Turtle Mound, a historic archeological site home to a 50 feet-tall refuse with the largest shell middens in Florida’s coast. There, you’ll find oyster shells and some prehistoric shell from before Europeans arrived in the Americas. So hit the road; an adventure by the coast waits near Edgewater.
