Lake Wales Camping

Lake Wales is located in almost the very center of the Florida peninsula, and it offers an authentic experience of the real, authentic, Old Florida. Check out the Historic Bok Sanctuary, a lovely collection of gardens. The historic downtown is well worth a visit, for the many murals designed by the firm of famed city planner Frederick Law Olmsted Jr, as well as the excellent cafes and eateries. Make sure to see the Lake Wales Art Center to see local art, as well as the charming local church which has cupolas and bell towers dating back to 1927. It is also close to Lake Wailes Park and Lake Kissimmee State Park, both excellent for hiking and exploring.
