There are many fun activities for glampers to enjoy, both on the property, and in the local area. The most popular pastime here is scuba diving. The property is recognized as one of the best and safest diving resorts in the country, and the crystal clear water has a pleasant year-round temperature of 68 degrees. Divers can explore the vast underwater cavern, which is 115 feet deep, and can spot a huge variety of fish, including koi, gar, catfish, American eels, redhorse suckers, bluegill, bass, and more. The resort offers a wide range of diving classes, to suit every level and ability, including guests with special needs. Other on-site activities include walking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and multiple slides, high dives, diving boards, and swings.
Fishing, golfing, and boating are some more popular local pursuits. Fishing enthusiasts can choose from several local lakes, including Cassidy, Holley, and Juniper. The Choctawhatchee River is a short drive away and, of course, the Gulf of Mexico offers some of the world's greatest deep sea fishing. There are three superb and scenic golf courses within 30 miles of the property, which are DeFuniak Springs, Dogwood Lakes, and Windswept Dunes.
Chipley Park, in nearby DeFuniak Springs, is worth a visit as it’s home to Florida’s oldest library, and also the intriguing Lake DeFuniak, which is reputed to be one of only two perfectly round natural lakes in the world. Folklore has it that the lake was formed by a large meteor crashing to earth centuries ago. Activities in the park include boating, walking, and picnicking.
Less than 30 minutes away, by car, glampers can enjoy an authentic Southern experience, at the Bonifay Rodeo, which takes place annually every October. Another way to learn more about the area is by paying a visit to the Walton County Heritage Museum in DeFuniak Springs. This fascinating place houses artifacts, memorabilia, and exhibits, which tell visitors about the rich social history of the region.
