Ball Ground

Ball Ground is a charming small community in Cherokee County, nestled in the foothills of the stunning Appalachian Mountains. The town is steeped in history, and the Ball Ground Historic District was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, with many homes dating as far back as the 1880s and early 20th century. There are plenty of eateries, antique stores, cafes, gift shops and restaurants in the area. Also, a mere two and one-half miles from town is "Taliwa", the site of the most decisive battle of the war between Cherokee and Creek Indians in the 1700s. And of course, with its privileged position in the foothills of the Appalachians, there is plenty of hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and more to be enjoyed in the surrounding nature.
